![]() ![]() because the latest windows 10 build is pure garbage. ![]() There are no components in it that can cause the PC to malfunction, or cause a security threat. This OS is a kind of Enterprise build, it is created with more stable fault tolerance. well I just downgrade to Windows 7 from windows 10 - 1809. Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 (its other name: Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 with long-term maintenance) is a special version of Windows 10 - LTSB. I don't see any other GPO's setting this key - so I am assuming it's Sophos. Hi Adae, when the trial expires, Windows will deactivate and you would need to re-install your original operating system which would then automatically re-activate. I do see some 3rd party apps to change permissions via command line but that wouldn't fly at work. I can manually change these permissions, but for 200 machines that's just no feasible. Currently Windows 10 LTSB is only available in the Enterprise Edition for large companies and organisations that have a KMS (Key Management Server) it is not available to the general public You can download a 90 day trial, but you would not be able to activate that version as a private user. I tried adjusting the permissions of the key via GPO, no luck. Admins don't have permission on the key to make the change. I tried changing these via GPO, command line. ![]() The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender\DisableAntivirus and DisableAntispyware keys are just not changing to 0 no matter what I do. I've onboarded plenty with GPO or a script, but with these machines running LTSB, I can't seem to. We have about 200 machines that aren't in Intune due to being on an LTSB version of Windows, and the nature of these machines. Microsoft rebranded 'Windows Embedded' to 'Windows IoT' starting with the release of embedded editions of Windows 10. ![]() I've onboarded 90% of our machines to begin gathering telemetry data. Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC gets 5 more years of extended support only if your company takes part in the Software Assurance program. It means that Microsoft will support Windtill 2028. We're running Sophos but planning on moving over to Windows Defender at some point this year. Windows 10 LTSC life-cycle is 10 years (5 years of the main lifetime and 5 years of extended support). ![]()
